In a remarkable demonstration of environmental stewardship, more than 150 AmBankers gathered on Saturday, 18 January 2025, for a day of coastal cleaning and mangrove planting at the Bagan Lalang Mangrove Forest in Sepang, Selangor. This initiative, part of AmBank Group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, saw our volunteers actively contributing to the preservation of Malaysia’s coastal ecosystem.
With paddles in hand and a shared vision of a greener tomorrow, our volunteers kayaked along the mangrove forest, collecting waste and debris while planting 1,000 mangrove saplings. Mangroves play a crucial role in coastal protection, carbon sequestration and supporting marine biodiversity, making this effort an impactful step in our broader sustainability agenda.
We were honoured to have our Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jamie Ling, present at the event. He set the tone for the day with an inspiring speech, emphasising the importance of collective action in environmental preservation, before officially flagging off our kayaking adventure. Also lending his support and participating actively was our Head of Group Corporate Communications & Marketing, Shazman Shahid, alongside our passionate volunteers.
This event is part of a series of impactful initiatives lined up in celebration of AmBank Group’s 50th anniversary, reinforcing our commitment to the theme Malaysia Kita, which embodies unity, sustainability and shared progress. As we commemorate five decades of enriching the lives of Malaysians, we are proud to continue our efforts in building a better and more sustainable nation for future generations.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our amazing AmBankers who volunteered their time and energy to make this initiative a success. Your dedication and enthusiasm reflect the true spirit of AmBank, and together, we are making a meaningful impact—one mangrove at a time.
Let’s continue to champion sustainability and create a lasting legacy for generations to come!
